6 Ways to Saturate September in Prayer

Saturate Sept 2015

For the month of September, we at The Brook want to saturate our city, community, families, church and our very lives with prayer. Our aim is to have focused time and a united voice in prayer and fasting. We explored the pleasure and privilege of prayer in a recent sermon series, Talking with God, and want to continue that movement. Here are 6 ways you can Saturate September in Prayer:

  1. SUNDAY MORNING PRAYER - Our sanctuary will be open every Sunday in the month of September from 6am-8:30am for united prayer!
  2. 10 DAYS OF PRAYER AND FASTING - From September 13-23, we will join hundreds of other churches in Chicago and nationwide for a focused 10 days of prayer and fasting. In the middle of those 10 days will be a worship night at The Brook on (the 16th, see below) and Pray Chicago on Thursday, September 17th.

  3. WORSHIP & PRAYER NIGHT - On Wednesday, September 16 at 7pm we will have a night of worship in song and prayer at The Brook that is open for anyone in the city to join us.
  4. PRAYER FOR THE PERSECUTED CHURCH AND PASTOR SAEED - On Saturday, September 26 from 11am-1pm we will be going to Fellowship Church of Carol Stream to pray for imprisoned Iranian Pastor Saeed along with praying for our brothers and sisters around the world who are suffering for their faith.
  5. LADIES PRAYER LINE - A grassroots movement of prayer among ladies has sprouted in our church, city, and nation. These Sisters That Pray (STP) pray over the phone on a prayer line every weekday morning at 6:30am and weekends at 7am. For more info about the prayer line and how to connect, email us at The Brook.
  6. SELAH: GOD'S PLAYLIST FOR THE RHYTHMS OF LIFE - A powerful tool in our prayer arsenal is the Bible. Our sermon series for this Fall is from the book of Psalms which are a collection of prayers and songs that will provide fuel to set your prayer life ablaze.
