Thankful for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

At The Brook, we are grateful for the many ways God used Martin Luther King, Jr. to advance racial equality through peaceful and sacrificial means. He was a courageous man who, among other things, cared deeply about something that God cares deeply about, Christ-Exalting Diversity. This bold passion of his led him through city streets, jails, and pulpits all for which, we at The Brook are extremely thankful.

God made all people in His own image and sent Jesus to make a way for all people to have peace with God and one another through faith in Jesus (Ephesians 2:13-16). There is good reason for remembering Martin Luther King, Jr. today and good reason to pray for continued healing in our nation beginning in the church.

One day, the church will be healed and whole locking arms with people from every tribe, tongue, & nation with one voice saying, "Worthy is the Lamb!"

And they sang a new song, saying,“Worthy are you to take the scroll and to open its seals, for you were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation. -Revelation 5:9

Let's begin, by the grace and power of God, to work toward that God glorifying end even now!
