Pastor Eric and Erikah Rivera
Pastor Eric and Erikah love their Brook family and have had the joy of seeing God’s work in this church from it’s beginning. Pastor Eric is the Lead Pastor at The Brook. God placed upon him and Erikah the vision to recruit a devoted and diverse team to plant The Brook in October 2013. They share a passion to mobilize the church to be on mission in their urban context and make followers of Jesus through life-on-life discipleship. From day one, The Brook was God’s vision and they both feel a sense of wonder that God would call them to be a part of what He’s doing in Chicago and beyond. Pastor Eric has a B.A. in Bible Theology from Moody Bible Institute, M.Div. from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School and a Ph.D. in Historical Theology at Trinity. He is the author of “Christ is Yours” (Lexham 2019) and “Unexpected Jesus” (Lexham 2022).
Erikah earned her BA in Bible Theology from Moody Bible Institute, which shaped her desire to increase biblical literacy among women in the Church. She is pursuing her MA in Mental Health Counseling at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. She serves as a leader at The Brook, finding particular joy teaching and leading women.
Pastor Eric and Erikah have been married since 2003 and together shepherd their three precious children.Together they also serve on the national speaker team for FamilyLife’s Weekend To Remember marriage getaways and are contributors to FamilyLife’s The Art of Parenting video series and The Story of Us couples devotional. They are grateful parents to their three precious children.
Our Elders
At The Brook, we believe that the Head Pastor of the church is Jesus Christ. The church belongs to Him, seeing that He purchased her by his own blood to make forgiveness and eternal life possible. He then has put Pastors/Elders in place to do the work of leading His sheep in each church. We believe that this leadership calling within the church is placed upon a plurality of men who faithfully love, lead, instruct, protect, pray for and feed the “sheep” in accordance with what the Bible teaches (Titus 1:5-9; 1 Peter 5:1–5; 1 Timothy 3:1–7).

Our LEAD Team
The Brook’s LEAD Team is a group of 12+ women and men who meet regularly to Listen, Execute, Analyze and Dream regarding the church vision. Team members are identified by their walk with the Lord, leadership abilities, availability and eagerness to serve.
